Q: How to resolve a blank screen on a PODxt LIVE

A: If you are getting a blank screen on your PODxt LIVE please try the Edit Buffer Initialization with the following steps:

1. Turn off the POD

2. Turn on the POD while holding down the Save and Edit buttons simultaneously

3. The POD's LCD screen should display Init Edit Buffer

4. Push the Output mode button

5. Turn the Select / Select Page knob one click to the right

6. Turn the Effect Tweak / Change Value knob to the left or right adjusting the contrast.

If this does not solve the issue for you please locate your local Service Center for repair.

Q: I purchased a MODEL PACK and can't find any of the new features on my device.

A: Please run Line 6 License Manager and authorize your purchased MODEL PACK/s for use with your Line 6 Devices and Software.

1. Download and install the latest version of Line 6 License Manager for your operating system from the Line 6 software page. Go to the following link for software downloads: Line 6 Software downloads.
2. Before launching the Line 6 License Manager, be sure to have your Internet connection active (and your Line 6 device connected, if you are using one).
3. Launch the License Manager:

On Mac® - Go to /Applications/Line 6/Line 6 License Manager.
On Windows® - Go to Start menu\Programs\Line 6\Tools\Line 6 License Manager.

4. Log in to your Line 6 account.
5. Select the device to which you want to authorize for use with your licenses and click the Authorize button.
6. Once the Authorization process completes, you may be prompted with a screen informing you that your Line 6 device includes some Add-Ons that need to be “Installed” on your device. If you are presented with this screen, click the Install button to proceed.
7. At this point, you are able to use your licenses on your authorized device. Repeat this process with any other devices you want to authorize for use with your licenses.

Note: The installation of your model pack will not add presets to your device/program, it will add more AMP or EFFECTS models.

Q: I am trying to set up my POD XT Live and on the what are you connecting to screen I cannot get it out of Studio/Direct mode.

A:When headhphones are plugged in, the POD XT Live defaults to Studio/Direct mode. Please unplug the headphones and it should give you the other connection options.

Q: How do I calibrate the pedal on my PODxt Live?

1. Make sure there is nothing connected to your PODxt live aside from the power cable.

2. Power up the PODxt Live while holding down the Bank Up pedal

3. Press the Amp pedal (this will reset the current settings)

4. Move the pedal all the way to the heel back position, then all the way forward until the toe switch clicks. You will want to stand up and shift all of your weight to the toe position until you see the WAH light turn on.

5. Wait 10 seconds, then power the PODxt Live off and back on again.

6. Your pedal is now calibrated.

Q: What type of pedal should I use for the external expression pedal?

A: The Line 6 EX-1 is the pedal recommended for use with all Line 6 gear. You should be able to use any expression pedal with a 10K potentiometer if you do not have an EX-1 available.

Q: Can I calibrate the external expression pedal?

A: There is no calibration method for the external expression pedal.

If you are experiencing the following error codes in the display of your PODxt device:

please try the following:

Try the Edit Buffer Initialization with the following steps:

HD500 Acoustic guitar with auxiliary input

-I would like to use my Acoustic guitar into the Aux IN of my HD500 for the volume pedal and reverb, but I lose sound quality, even with no effects the cristal sound of my K&K powermix Pure is lost... Is there a solution other than using eq's to get the original sound of my Acoustic Guitar through the Aux IN?

M13 + Ipad + Kaoss Pad App?

So I was thinkin. What if you lovely folks at line 6 made the following possible:

Guitar into M13. M13 midi in and out to an ipad (presumably with midi mobilizer). Ipad has app that basically allows you to turn it into an X-Y pad, wherein you can assign parameters (such as HP filters and wah wah effects or whatever) to each axis and essentially control and change completely your effect tone with a flick of your finger. in real time.

back out to amp.

also, if this app would have a USER FRIENDLY, INTUITIVE way to set up and organize your scenes, such as dragging one effect slot to an "on deck" slot so you can move effects around more effectively and quickly without losing that perfect thing you've dialed in.

If this happened I would love you forever, Line 6. I'd be happy to present an artistic design for such an app. You would be giving users more control than was thought possible!

Q: How do I use the StageSource L3t or L3m?

Q: What are Smart Speaker Modes?

A: The StageSource L3t and L3m use six powerful DSP-based Smart Speaker modes optimized for a variety of performance scenarios including front-of-house PA, floor monitor, personal PA, keyboard backline, acoustic guitar backline, or with a multi-effects guitar processor as a high-performance electric guitar speaker system. The six available Smart Speaker Modes are:

Reference/P.A. - Reference/P.A. mode is for live sound reinforcement and features a flat frequency response, a 2.2kHz crossover frequency and maximum low-frequency extension. This mode is the optimal reference setting, whether your cabinet is mounted on a tripod, on stage or installed as part of a larger multi-component system.
Playback - Playback mode is optimized for pre-recorded music. Functionally, Playback mode is similar to P.A. mode but includes an EQ curve that emphasizes extreme low and high frequencies, making it well-suited for playing back music from a CD or MP3 player, or for DJ applications.
Floor Monitor - Floor Monitor mode is similar to P.A. mode with a slight reduction in low frequency content to counteract coupling when placing the speaker on the floor. If the speaker is powered on while in a horizontal position, Floor Monitor speaker mode will be selected automatically, you can then change to a different mode, if desired.
Keyboards - Keyboard Mode optimizes the L3t for use as backline amplification for a keyboard rig. This mode features a flat frequency response with a 3.5kHz crossover frequency, adding more relative energy to the cone and providing a warmer response that is pleasant for instruments. This mode also provides Virtual Tilt-back, which optimizes the speaker’s tuning to achieve an upward tilt to its main axis and aim the sound towards the performer.
Acoustic Guitar - Acoustic Guitar mode is optimized to provide a warm and balanced full-range amplification experience for acoustic instruments. This mode also features a 3.5kHz crossover frequency, with a custom-tailored low-frequency response to minimize “boominess” than can occur when amplifying acoustic instruments. Acoustic Guitar mode provides Virtual Tilt-Back, which optimizes the speaker’s tuning to achieve an upward tilt to its main axis and aim the sound towards the performer.
Electric Guitar - Electric Guitar Mode was designed to accommodate the modern guitarist who uses a multi-effects floorboard device such as the Line 6 POD®. Rather than sending the signal from the guitarist’s floorboard to an amplifier and then mic’ing the amp, this L3t mode features an overall frequency response that emulates the sound of a 212 combo amp. The dual 10” speakers play full range, with the horn adding only the smallest amount of sparkle to the sound. Users of the Line 6 POD HD500 or POD HD Pro can plug directly into the L3t L6 LINK™ input on the control panel for digital audio and logic integration. This mode also provides Virtual Tilt-Back, which optimizes the speaker’s tuning to achieve an upward tilt to its main axis and aim the sound towards the performer.

Q: Will StageSource L3t and L3m function as a floor monitor?

A: The StageSource L3t and L3m feature two sets of kickstands that can be used to angle the speakers upwards towards the performer. The two back-panel kickstands flip out, allowing the L3t and L3m to be angled upwards at 60°, the side mounted carrying handle doubles as a kickstand as well, allowing the L3t and L3m to be angled upwards at 30°. The StageSource L3t and L3m both include a smart speaker mode optimized for using the loudspeaker as a floor monitor. If the speaker is powered on while in a horizontal position, Floor Monitor speaker mode will be selected automatically. Q: How does the L6 Link Network work with the StageSource speakers?

Q: Can the StageSource speakers be pole mounted?

A: The StageSource L3t and L3m both feature a pole mount that accommodates standard 35 mm diameter speaker poles. The L3s features three threaded pole mounts (one on top, two on the right side) to accommodate Line 6 M20 threaded speaker poles. The M20 threaded speaker pole part numbers are:

Short pole - for mounting an L3t/L3m tower (Part # 98-037-0003)
Long pole - for mounting an L3t/L3m tower (Part # 98-037-0004)

Q: What is the proper method for suspending the StageSource speakers?

A: The StageSource L3t and L3m provide four threaded M10 attachment points for suspension and one threaded M10 attachment point for pull-back and aiming the speaker. These are designed to allow for suspending the loudspeaker only by a qualified professional familiar with safe rigging practices. Improper installation may result in damage to the speaker or support structure, or injury or death.

WARNING! If you are unfamiliar with suspending loudspeakers, consult an authorized, qualified professional prior to installation.

WARNING! Before rigging or suspending any loudspeaker product, inspect all rigging hardware, cabinets, attachment points, transducers, and associated peripherals. Any absent, warped, or non-load rated equipment could seriously compromise the strength of the installation and should be immediately corrected.

WARNING! Always follow all municipal building codes, as well as any local, state, and federal safety guidelines regarding the installation and operation of loudspeakers and associated peripherals.

Always use two attachment points on either the top or bottom of the L3t/L3m The rear panel pull-back attachment point is only for aiming the speaker downwards (see illustration below); it is not to be used as a load-bearing suspension point.

For permanent installations, use only the Line 6 eyebolt kit (Part # 98-037-0005).

Q: Can I use a different crossover with the StageSource speakers?

A: To use an external crossover with the StageSource loudspeakers, connect the stereo outputs of your mixer into your crossovers inputs. Connect the high/mid frequency output of the crossover to the rear panel Line Level Input of the L3t or L3m loudspeaker, than connect the low frequency output of the crossover into either the Left or Right input on the L3s subwoofer.

Q: Can I install a different speaker driver into the StageSource speaker cabinet?

A: The speaker drivers used are specifically designed for the speaker cabinets and speaker modes used with the StageSource series.. Changing the speaker drivers can effect reliability and performance and will void the manufacturer warranty.

Q: Why should I register my Line 6 gear?

A: Registering your gear allows you to receive free updates, as well as grants you the ability to update your unit with model packs and access GuitarPort Online (on units that support these features). It is also required should you choose to use the benefits of the manufacturers warranty for repair or replacement of your Line 6 unit.

Please be sure you have all your gear registered to the same account.

Q: How do I register my Line 6 Gear?

A: See the following link to direct you to your product registration page:

The left side of the screen will display a "Register Gear" link. Click the link and choose your product. Most items will have an automatic completion for the first few characters once you select the product. Continue to enter your unit's serial number. The serial number is on a sticker affixed to the back of your unit, and also on the unit's retail box, and follows this 17 character format: (21)XXXNLNNNNNNNNNN, where X stands for number or letter, N stands for NUMBER, and L stands for LETTER. Please be aware that zeroes and letter Os may look identical. Complete the registration by entering the purchase date.

Exceptions

GuitarPort/Rifftracker: after selecting GuitarPort from the dropdown menu, enter the eight digits found on the bottom of the unit (on the right of the bar code). If your unit is missing the sticker with the serial number, please connect the unit to Line 6 Monkey and use the ESN number shown on the left side on Monkey.

Variax

Choose the correct model and color. The serial number field will partially fill with a serial prefix that will look something like "21xxx125".
Enter the 8 digits on the back of your headstock after the serial number prefix.
Put a 0 at the end of the number.
Fill in the date purchased and click "Submit"

Q: I have an X2 wireless product that was manufactured prior to the Line 6 aquisition. Can I register this product?

A: Because of the serial numbering format used by older X2 wireless products, our systems are unable to register these products to your Line 6 account However, if you create a support thread marked as a question or call our support department, we can add your serial number to a support ticket so it is on record with Line 6.

Q: Are there some Line 6 units and/or accessories that cannot be registered?

A: Yes. Early Line 6 units such as AX/AXsys, Flextone (I), and POD(I) cannot be registered, as their serial numbers will not fit into the current format. In addition, some accessory units such as the FBV2, EX-1, EPROM Upgrades, and XPS boxes do not have a serial number and cannot be registered.

Q: Where is the serial number located?

A: The serial number for your Line 6 Product is located in most cases on the bottom or back of your product. The Pocket Pod serial number can be found inside the battery-housing compartment behind the top right battery. The number also appears on the unit's retail box.

Q: I'm having trouble registering my unit. How do I get help?

A: Make sure you are signed in to your Line 6 account and refer to our Registration Help form to send an inquiry to a Line 6 representative. If your unit is missing the sticker with the serial number, please connect the unit to Line 6 Monkey (free download at http://line6.com/software/) and use the ESN number shown on the left side on Monkey. Provide the ESN number when making your inquiry.

Q: How do I remove a registration?

A: First go to My Account…Register Gear, then click the Remove link.
